"Thnx Maaate, you´re the greatest!

The story of Jason Belmonte, AUS vs. Johnny Magnusson, SWE

Part 1

Before you read this....know 1 thing.
Everything I am about to write is true. It happened, but the way I may explain it to you, may be a little more dramatic. With that in mind enjoy the story of......
it's not over till "Big Johnny" sings!!!!!
I woke up this morning feeling fresh and ready for battle. I was relaxed, loose. I met Johnny at the bus station and we arrived together to the arena. I was cautious of Johnny all the way there. Making sure he didn´t spike my drink or throw my shoes out the bus window.
We arrived to be greeted by the huge array of fans. There was so many it was hard to count, but if I had to guess, 2 maybe 3.
We limbered up, making sure we were warm and ready.
BADMINTON, the first event.
I kept thinking over and over in my head what I would say to Johnny after I win 3-0 today. We practice for a little, but the crowd was getting restless "Hurry up and play" yelled some sexy Australian women in the crowd.
I quickly took a sip of water and Johnny received some words of wisdom from his coach Inge.
Dare I say it... The battle had begun.
I was dancing around the court, Johnny had this look in his eyes that scared me. He served the ball high, I smashed it back for what I thought would be a certain winner, not to be. Johnny returned it faster and lower than I ever could "Sorry Sir, that´s 1-0" I heard my opponent say with a smile on his face.
10-2, I was down. All of a sudden the thoughts of me winning 3-0, changed and now I was thinking about what Johnny would say to me.
He bashed me, never giving me a chance. He moved like a leaping gazelle across the court, hitting the ball harder and higher every shot.
21-9, Johnny wins the first set.
I wiped the sweat off my face and said "ok, I´m playing for real now" Hoping my confident words might scare Johnny into trying to play too hard.
My game plan changed and I was leading early on 3-2. But it wasn´t long till Johnny showed why he is a pro and I´m a nobody. He would read my every move and to make m
atters worse he would be clever and perform perfectly weighted drop shots just to rub it into me.
I did a little better the second set but i was no match for the talented Mr.Johnny. 21-11.
JOHNNY leads the championship 1-0...he waved to his fans in the crowd, shook me hand and said "better luck next time". Problem for me was no matter how lucky I could get, Johnny is just too good for me at this sport.
